Journal Writing for 4E1

Journal Writing : Understanding concept of max / min point

Graph 1:

Maximum point : (-5, 7), (1, 5)
Minimum point : (-2, -1), (6, -1)
Stationary points, dy/dx = 0 as f(x) is continuous

Graph 2:

Maximum point: (5, 4)
Minimum point: (-3, -5)
No stationary point as f(x) is not continuous

Graph 3:

Any point between x = -2 and x = 7 is a maximum or a minimum point.
Any point between x = -2 and x = 7 is a stationary point except at
x = -2 and x = 7.
